MINSK, 7 April (BelTA) – No.6 seed Victoria Azarenka of Belarus lost, 4-6, 6-7, to world number 70 Anna Kalinskaya of Russia in the third round of the Charleston Open 2023, BelTA has learned.
Earlier, the Belarusian won her clash over Sloane Stephens of the United States, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2, to make the Charleston Open round of 16.
Belarus’ Aliaksandra Sasnovich lost to Sofia Kenin of the United States, 1-6, 7-6, 1-6, in the opener.
World number two Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus withdrew from the Charleston Open due to an injury she picked up during the previous tournament.
