Belarus’ NOC president meets with Children of Asia Committee head

MINSK, 27 February (BelTA) – President of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Belarus Viktor Lukashenko has met with Director General of the Children of Asia Games International Committee Vladimir Maksimov in Novokuznetsk, Russia, BelTA learned from the press service of the NOC.

The head of the organizing committee of the Children of Asia Games emphasized the important role of the Belarusian athletes’ participation in the international competitions. “The arrival of the Belarusian team in Kuzbass arouses great interest among fans, ordinary Siberians, who treat Belarus very warmly,” Vladimir Maksimov said. “Many of our athletes simply fall in love with this country. The visit of the Belarusian delegation has strengthened our opinion that we did the right thing. I am sure that we will have more joint projects,” he added.

“Participation in the Children of Asia Games is a great experience and necessary practice for young Belarusian athletes. It is important for athletes at this age to perform at this level. If you see our teams in the Children of Asia projects in the future, we will gladly consider these proposals,” Viktor Lukashenko said.

The Belarusian delegation led by the NOC president is set to visit a number of sports facilities and competitions during the second Children of Asia Winter International Sports Games.
