Belarus win 35 medals at Grand Prix of Moscow

MINSK, 29 May (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes took part in the traditional track cycling competition Grand Prix of Moscow at the Krylatskoye Sports Complex Velodrome, BelTA has learned.

Competing in the event were leaders of the national teams of Belarus and Russia. The tournament included both competitions for seniors and juniors (17-18 years old). Over the three-day Grand Prix of Moscow Belarusian cyclists won 35 medals, including 11 gold ones. Karolina Biryuk was the best in the elimination race, Yauheni Karaliok won the points race and Artsiom Zaitsau won the team sprint in a tandem with the Russian riders.

In the junior events Belarus’ Polina Konrad won five gold medals (scratch, tempo race, elimination race, points race and madison paired with Adelina Sakun). Pavel Valuika claimed two gold medals in the scratch and elimination race. His teammate Vadzim Odzinets celebrated the victory in the points race. Belarusian cyclists (seniors and juniors) won 12 silver and bronze medals apiece at the Grand Prix of Moscow.
