MINSK, 6 March (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes took part in the Emirates Sports Karate Open Championship in Sharjah, BelTA has learned.
The international competitions in the UAE featured almost 600 athletes from 19 countries. Belarus fielded eight athletes, six of whom clinched medals.
Gold medals went to Oleg Melekhin (under 60kg), and David Nguyen (under 75kg). Bronze medals were collected by Veronika Borovik, Irina Sharykhina (under 55kg), Maria Azarova (under 61kg), and Nikita Kiriyevich (under 84kg).
