Vytoki festival wraps up in Pruzhany

Vytoki has acquired a new, transformed look this season as promised by the National Olympic Committee. It turned out to be even brighter and more interesting.

The festival started on 6 June with the national tourist campaign Travel! Experience! Get Inspired! Journalists and participants of the festival got acquainted with the unique heritage of Pruzhany District and toured Ruzhany Castle, Ruzhany health resort and one of the most picturesque ecological trails of the Bereza District forestry.

The Pruzhany Cooking book with local authentic recipes was launched on the same day.

In the afternoon, the guests joined the art interactive event from the ArtChaos gallery. Together with Belarusian artists, they helped to put the finishing touches to the new skate roller park in the style of the Belarusian folk art – postilki.

The second day began with a presentation tour of sports facilities. The senior officials of the National Olympic Committee, the Sport and Tourism Ministry and the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee visited Pruzhany Children’s and Youth Sports School No. 1 and the sports facilities of Olympic Reserve Children’s and Youth School No. 2.

It was raining in the morning the following day. However, by lunchtime the weather cleared up, just in time for a sport and history quest. 15 teams walked about 3.5 kilometers and made a stop at 7 points associated with the historical heritage of the city: the community center, shopping stalls, Szwykowski palace and others.

At the points, the participants were to accomplish special sport and history tasks.

After the quest, everyone went to see what the artisans fair, a food court and entertainment program. Oksana Gagarina, who came to the festival with a friend and two children, said that she was very happy with how the town had changed for the festival. “We really like the festival. We are here for two day already, and we always find something to do and see here,” she noted.

The highlight of the second day was the ceremonies to open festival and to inaugurate the skate roller park. The opening ribbon was cut by President of the NOC Viktor Lukashenko, Chairman of the Brest Oblast Executive Committee Yuri Shuleiko and Chairman of the Pruzhany District Executive Committee Mikhail Grishanov.

The opening ceremony featured the invited guests, multiple champions of Russia in skateboarding and participants of the Olympic Games in Tokyo Alexander Gusev, Egor Kaldikov and Alexandra Timonina, and also the best Belarusian representatives of roller sports and the strongest breakdance teams of the country.

Many noted that the park will give children the opportunity to take on a new sport and thus keep them away from unsafe streets.

The day wrapped up with an interactive theatrical performance featuring Belarusian rites and a fashion show from Belarusian designers and manufacturers.

The third day of the festival opened with an intellectual quiz, which brought together 10 professional and 10 amateur teams. The quiz for professionals was a regional qualifying round. At the national final Brest Oblast will be represented by the team “Youth of Pribuzhye” from Telma.

The main event of the day was the traditional Olympic quest. This year, 26 sports sites have been prepared for children at the Pruzhany stadium Mukhavets. Here, children under 14 could try their hand at rowing simulators, karate, judo, gymnastics. They were helped by experienced coaches, famous athletes, medalists of the Olympic Games, world and European championships.

Maria Yaroshuk came to the quest from Kamenets. The girl said that she and her friend got a trip here as a reward for her good academic performance. “This is a very cool event. We participated in almost everything: basketball, athletics, tennis. The tasks were easy, because I play basketball. We also took an autograph from Yulia Nesterenko and won a smart watch!” the girl said.

The quest brought together children not only from the region, but also from all over the country. For example, 6-year-old Lyosha Zhukovets came with his parents from Minsk. He said that he earned a watch in the quest: “They give you a watch if you collect 18 golden seals! I collected them all. It was difficult, but I tried very hard,” he said.

Belagroprombank, the general sponsor of the NOC of Belarus, ha taken part in the Vytoki festival for the fourth year in a row.

Belagroprombank runs its own sports and entertainment site for children with various activities: a financial quiz, exciting games, sports relay races and competitions, flash mobs, dances.

This year, Belagroprombank focused on sports events for children. Young guests were warmly welcomed by the cheerful Agrik, the symbol of the bank.

Throughout the day, the animators and a creative host welcomed the guests of the bank’s site. The atmosphere here was cozy and joyful. The winners of the games from Belagroprombank received memorable gifts and souvenirs.

A football match with sports legends was held alongside the activities for children. The team of Belarusian Olympians, which included Maksim Nedosekov, Aliaksandr Hleb, Yegor Ignatenko took up on a team of Belarusian football veterans. The latter included Roman

Vasilyuk, Vladimir Yushkevich and Sergei Polyakov.

Belarusian famous athletes actively support Vytoki. Multiple medalist of the world, European and European wrestling championships Vasilisa Marzalyuk joined the holiday this time. “Many thanks to the National Olympic Committee for this festival, because it bring people together. This is the most important thing. People came from different parts of our beloved country. They enjoy the amazing weather and all sorts of handicraft things. There are eminent athletes here and you can introduce children to sports life and meet champions,” she said.

Vytoki wrapped up with a concert featuring Razgar and JCB bands and a pyrotechnic show.
