Belarus beat Kazakhstan at Qazaqstan Hockey Open in Astana

MINSK, 4 May (BelTA) – The international tournament Qazaqstan Hockey Open 2024 is taking place in Astana featuring the national teams of Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Russia 25, BelTA has learned.

Belarus opened the tournament against the hosts who suffered a narrow loss, 0-1, to Russia a day earlier. 

Forward Aleksandr Skorenov scored a hat trick in Belarus’ 5-4OT win over Kazakhstan. Igor Martynov added one more after Kazakhstan got on the scoreboard early in the second period. The two teams finished the regular time going 4-4.

Vitaly Pinchuk put a stop to the game with a goal one minute into the 3×3 overtime.

On 4 May Belarus will face Russia 25. The Belarusian national team is a reigning champion of the  Qazaqstan Hockey Open.
