Belarus to compete at Qazaqstan Hockey Open in Astana 

MINSK, 2 May (BelTA) – The international tournament Qazaqstan Hockey Open 2024 is kicking off in Astana on 2 May featuring the national teams of Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Russia 25, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian national hockey team is the reigning champion of the tournament, defeating the hosts 6-0 and Russian 7-4 last year. Head coach Dmitry Kvartalnov called 27 hockey players to play at this year’s tournament.

 
Belarus will open the tournament against Kazakhstan on 3 May. For the hosts, the event is the final rehearsal ahead of the 2024 IIHF World Championship which are due in Czechia on 10-26 May. On Saturday, Belarus will face Russia. The Russia vs Kazakhstan match will open the event on 2 May.
