Belarus’ best swimmers compete in Russian Cup in Kazan

MINSK, 26 July (BelTA) – Belarus’ best swimmers are competing in the final leg of the Russian Cup in Russia’s Kazan, BelTA has learned.

Belarus’ Ilya Shymanovich clocked the best time of 58.82 in the 100m breaststroke semifinal. Belarusian Anastasiya Shkurdai and Anastasia Kuleshova have advanced into the 50m backstroke and Alina Zmushka – into the 50m breaststroke final.

Team Belarus consists of 11 athletes. All in all, more than 500 Belarusian and Russian swimmers will compete in the Russian Cup events in the Kazan Aquatics Palace. The event is broadcast live by Belarus 5 TV channel for Belarusian audiences. The tournament will finish on 30 July.
