Belarus to compete at Abu Dhabi Grand Slam 2023

MINSK, 24 October (BelTA) – Belarusian judokas will compete at the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam 2023 in the United Arab Emirates, BelTA has learned.

Taking part in the competitions will be 450 judokas from 78 countries. Belarus will field four athletes who will compete as neutrals. These will be Yahor Varapayeu (-90kg), Daniel Mukete (-100kg), Kseniya Danilovich (-52kg) and Darya Kantsavaya (-78kg).

Yahor Varapayeu will open against Jamal Petgrave of the UK, Daniel Mukete will face Mikheil Japaridze of Georgia, Kseniya Danilovich will take on Maria Siderot of Portugal, Darya Kantsavaya will fight Petrunjela Pavic of Croatia.

A month ago eight Belarusian judokas took part in the Grand Slam event in Baku but did not collect any medals. The ongoing competitions in the UAE will feature 14 medal events.
