FEI allows Belarusians to compete as neutrals

MINSK, 20 November (BelTA) – The International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI) has decided to allow Belarusian and Russian athletes to complete as neutrals at its events, the Russian Equestrian Federation informs.

“Following lengthy negotiations, written appeals and telephone conferences between the Russian Equestrian Federation (REF) and the Bureau of the International Federation for Equestrian Sports, the FEI Executive Board has decided to review the barrier measures in place for Russian and Belarusian athletes, horses and officials. The FEI Executive Board has allowed athletes from Russia and Belarus, officials and horses to participate in competitions in a neutral status. The conditions and terms of realization of this decision will be submitted for approval to the FEI Executive Board during the teleconference in December 2023,” the Russian Equestrian Federation said.
