International sport federations call on IOC to let Belarusians compete at 2024 Olympics

MINSK, 6 December (BelTA) – International sports federations call on the International Olympic Committee to allow Belarusians and Russians to compete at the Summer Olympics 2024 in a neutral status, BelTA learned from the press release of the IOC.

During today’s meeting in Lausanne, the summer sports federations asked the IOC leadership to clarify the situation related to the qualifying procedures for Belarusian and Russian athletes for the upcoming Games as soon as possible.

Earlier, IOC President Thomas Bach noted that the decision on the admission of Russians and Belarusians to the Olympic Games would be made in March 2024. The 33rd Summer Olympics will be held from 26 July to 11 August in Paris.
