MINSK, 5 August (BelTA) – The first medals of the judo tournament of the 2nd CIS Games were awarded in Gomel on 5 August, BelTA has learned.
Belarusian judoka Safiya Varapai claimed bronze in the women’s 44kg event. Gold went to Uzbekistan’s Laziza Khaidarova, silver – to Uzbekistan’s Makhfira Ruziboyeva. Russia’s Sofiya Belash won the champion title in the women’s 40kg event, with silver going to Umida Kuldosheva of Uzbekistan and bronze – to Khadizha Abdullayeva of Azerbaijan.
The men’s 50kg event was won by Azerbaijan’s Nikhad Mamishov. Ivan Yurtaev of Russia clinched silver, Islam Bokov of Russia took bronze.
