Belarus 105th in FIFA rankings

MINSK, 21 September (BelTA) – Belarus’ national team went down to the 105th place in the FIFA World Rankings released recently, BelTA has learned.

Belarus was 98th in July rankings. Over the past two months, the Belarusian team, under the tutelage of new coach Carlos Alos Ferrer of Spain, have played two European Qualifiers 2024 games. At first, Belarus drew with Andorra 0-0 and lost to Israel 0-1. Now the Belarusian national team has 1198.22 points.

Belarus’ rivals in qualifying Group I hold the following positions: Switzerland – 13th, Romania – 48th, Israel – 76th, Kosovo – 109th, and Andorra – 154th.

Belarus will next play Romania in Budapest on 12 October, and Switzerland in St. Gallen on 15 October.

The FIFA’s September rankings are topped by Argentina. France is second, Brazil – third. The top ten also includes teams from England, Belgium, Croatia, the Netherlands, Italy, Portugal and Spain.

The next ranking of the world’s football teams will be released on 26 October.
