Belarus clinch medals at Swimming World Cup in Hungary

MINSK, 23 October (BelTA) – Four Belarusian players took part as neutrals in the World Aquatics Swimming World Cup 2023 in Budapest, Hungary, BelTA has learned.

Thirteen medal events took place on the final day of the competitions. Anastasiya Shkurdai brought Belarus the first medal of the 2023 World Cup, touching in second in the women 200m backstroke (2:09.67). Kaylee Mckeown of Australia celebrated a victory, and Canada’s Kylie Masse placed third.

Alina Zmushka secured bronze in the women 50m breaststroke in 30.53 seconds. Benedetta Pilato of Italy clinched gold and Ireland’s Mona Mc Sharry finished second.

Ilya Shimanovich placed 5th in the men 50m breaststroke and 9th in the men 100m breaststroke. Anastasiya Kuliashova finished 9th in the women 100m butterfly.
