Belarus finishes first in final medal table of Children of Primorye Games

MINSK, 5 July (BelTA) – Young Belarusian athletes became the best in the team medal standings of the First Summer Games Children of Primorye which ended in Russia’s Vladivostok, BelTA has learned.

Team Belarusian bagged 37 medals (20 gold, 12 silver and 5 bronze medals). Belarus sent a team of 32 athletes under the age of 16 for the Games in the capital of Primorye Territory. They competed in seven sports and won awards in each of them: athletics – 13 medals (10, 3, 0), table tennis – 8 (5, 3, 0), weightlifting – 4 (2, 2, 0), wrestling – 4 (2, 0, 2), 3×3 basketball – 1 (1, 0, 0), boxing – 4 (0, 3, 1), sambo – 3 (0, 1, 2). Team Vladivostok settled for the second place with 37 medals (14, 10, 13), Team Ussuriysk was third with 23 medals (7, 9, 7).

About 1,500 young athletes from Belarus, China and regions of Russia took part in the Games that featured 84 medals events in 11 sports.
