Belarus gearing up for UEFA Women’s Nations League matches

MINSK, 24 November (BelTA) – The Belarusian national football team is getting ready for the final matches of the new UEFA Women’s Nations League, BelTA has learned.

Head coach Yuri Maleyev has invited 24 players for the training camp.

The training camp will be held at the Belarusian Football Federation center in Vesnyanka through 28 November. The team will then travel to Budapest to face Czechia on 1 December. Belarus will then move to Zenica to take on the Group B4 leader Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In the previous matches Belarus scored two points securing draws against Slovenia (1-1, 0-0). Apart from that, Belarus lost to Czechia and Bosnia and Herzegovina (1-2 each).

The Group B4 standings: Bosnia and Herzegovina – 8 points, Czechia – 7, Slovenia – 3 and Belarus – 2.

The other quarters in Group B are the following:

1 – Hungary, Northern Ireland, Albania, Ireland;

2 – Finland, Slovakia, Romania, Croatia;

3 – Ukraine, Poland, Greece, Serbia.

Following the group stage, the group winners of League B will be promoted into the Nations League elite division – League A. The lowest-ranked teams in League B will be relegated to League C. The four group winners of League A will advance to the Nations League Finals, which will feature single-leg semi-finals, a third place play-off and final.
