MINSK, 5 October (BelTA) – Belarus has made it into Pot 3 for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2024 draw which is to take place in Dubai on 6 October, BelTA learned from Chairman of the Belarusian Beach Soccer Federation Mikhail Botnikov.
Apart from Belarus Pot 3 comprises the United States, Spain and Oman.
Pot 1 includes Brazil, Japan, Tahiti, UAE; Pot 2 – Italy, Portugal, Senegal, Iran; Pot 4 – Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, Egypt.
Belarus’ team is set to hold a number of training camps ahead of the event. In December the team is expected to travel to St. Petersburg to play several matches, Mikhail Botnikov said.
The final of the 12th Beach Soccer World Cup will be played in the United Arab Emirates from 15 to 25 February 2024. Belarus has made it into the top 16 teams for the third year in a row. Russia won gold at the previous event held in Russia. Japan secured silver and Switzerland took bronze.
