Belarus to join Games of Future 2024 in Russia’s Kazan

MINSK, 6 October (BelTA) – The National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Belarus held a meeting to discuss the development of phygital games in Belarus, BelTA has learned.

The Games of the Future will debut in Kazan, Russia from 21 February to 3 March 2024. The international tournament involves both online and physical sports competitions. For example, the football competitions consists of two stages. The competition consists of two stages. In the first stage, the teams play in a football video game, then they move to a mini-football field. The winner of the match is determined by the sum of goals scored at the digital and physical stages.

Vice President of the NOC of Belarus Dmitry Dovgalenok, Deputy Sport and Tourism Minister Aleksandr Baraulya and Acting Secretary General of the NOC Ksenia Sankovich met with representatives of ice hockey, basketball, football, aviation sports, skateboarding, motor sports, pankration, hand-to-hand fighting and cybersport to discuss teams for individual disciplines, and also preparations for and participation in high-level competitions.

The Games of the Future Kazan 2024 will feature over 2,000 athletes from different countries. They will compete in 21 disciplines. The competitions will be based on five challenges: sports, tactical, battle, technical and speedrun.
