Belarus U-21 lose to Portugal in UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualification

MINSK, 12 September (BelTA) – Belarus U-21 team suffered a second defeat in a row in the UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualification, BelTA has learned.

On 12 September, in Armenian Armavir, Belarus lost 0:5 to Portugal, one of the main favorites of the Qualifying Group G. On 12 September, Andorra will take on Greece and Croatia on the Faroe Islands.

In the previous match, Sergei Yasinsky’s side unexpectedly lost to the Faroe Islands (2:3). Prior to that, the Belarusians drew three times: with Andorra (1: 1 and 0: 0) and Greece (1: 1). Belarus U-21 will play their next match in Portugal on 13 October.

The current standings: Portugal – 6 points (2 matches), Faroe Islands – 4 (2), Belarus – 3 (5), Andorra – 3 (4), Greece – 1 (1), Croatia – 0 (0).
