Belarusian Harnasko wins Ribbon event at RG World Cup in Greece

MINSK, 25 March (BelTA) – Alina Harnasko, the leader of the Belarusian national team, Tokyo Olympic medalist, took part in the 2024 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup in Athens, Greece, BelTA has learned.

The four finals took place on 24 March. Belarus’ Alina Harnasko scored 31,550 points in the Ribbon routine to secure gold. Second was Elvira Krasnobaeva of Bulgaria (31,500), with Cyprus’ Vera Tugolukova finishing third (30,900).

The victory with the Ribbon became the second medal Alina won in Greece. Earlier, the Belarusian clinched the all-around bronze.

The 2024 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup in Greece is not a qualifying tournament for the 2024 Paris Olympics. Belarusian gymnasts will not be able to perform at the 2024 Olympic Games. The last Olympics licenses are for grabs at the upcoming European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in May. Belarusian and Russian athletes are not allowed to complete at the event. The next World Cup leg is due to take place in Sofia, Bulgaria on 12-14 April.
