Belarusian NOC hosts International Student Olympic Forum

MINSK, 1 November (BelTA) – The the forum to discuss the Olympic movement, student sports, communications and Olympic education has kicked off at the headquarters of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus, BelTA learned from the NOC press service.

The first day of the forum brought together students and undergraduates of higher education institutions from Belarus and Russia. They presented innovative projects in the field of Olympic education, student sports, volunteering and the Olympic movement. The most creative and promising projects were awarded special prizes from the Belarusian Association of University Sports and the National Volunteer Center.

The panel of experts included Chairman of the Presidium of the Belarusian Olympic Academy, Dean of the Sport and Pedagogical Faculty for Mass Sports at Belarusian State University of Physical Education Irina Guslistova, Olympic medalist in rhythmic gymnastics Alina Harnasko, Director of Belarusian Olympic Academy Natalia Aponchuk and Head of the National Volunteer Center Victoria Zakharevskaya. Vice President of the Belarusian NOC Dmitry Dovgalenok made a welcoming speech, noting the relevance of work in Olympic education in today’s context.

Belarusian State University of Physical Culture will host the second day of the forum on 2 November.
