Belarusian NOC president lays flowers at Masyukovshchina memorial complex

MINSK, 22 June (BelTA) – On the Day of National Remembrance of the Victims of the Great Patriotic War and the Genocide of the Belarusian People, President of the NOC of Belarus Viktor Lukashenko and the staff of the Olympic Committee paid tribute to the memory and laid flowers in the Masyukovshchina memorial complex.

“One of the most sorrowful and tragic days in the history of Belarus. More than 80 years ago, our soldiers and officers, our civilian population were able to survive in conditions when the enemy tried to wipe us off the face of the earth. We must learn from history. We need to honor the memory of the fallen, thanks to whom we can live in peace, raise children, create and develop. This is a great lesson for all of us, especially at the present time. We must make sure this tragedy does not happen again,” Viktor Lukashenko said.
