Minsk, 13 August (BelTA) – The closing ceremony of the 2nd CIS Games was held in Minsk Arena, BelTA has learned.
The largest sporting event of the summer has come to a close. The 2nd CIS Games in Belarus drew together participants from more than 20 countries. Since the format was open, the Games featured athletes from non CIS countries including from Venezuela, Pakistan, Iran, Cuba, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Mongolia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Lebanon, Oman and other countries. Remarkably, the 2nd CIS Games were held in Minsk and in ten more cities of Belarus.
Tea Belarus won more than 200 medals and placed second in the overall medal standings. Russia was first and Uzbekistan – third.
