MINSK, 5 January (BelTA) – Raubichi is hosting the third leg of the Commonwealth Biathlon Cup in 2023/24 season, BelTA has learned.
The event features the best biathletes from Belarus and Russia. The tournament in Raubichi will include men’s and women’s sprint, pursuit and mass start events. Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko made a welcoming speech at the opening ceremony of the event.
“It is a great honor for the country to host the third leg of the Commonwealth Biathlon Cup Biathlon at this world-class facility. When sanctions, absolutely inconsistent with any international rules, norms and standards, were imposed on Belarusian and Russian athletes, our sports families created all conditions to continue training and competing. Biathlon is highly respected both in Belarus and Russia, and the Commonwealth Cup, which has already become a good tradition, is on our calendar of the most important sporting events for the second year in a row. More than 60 athletes will compete in Raubichi. I wish them good mood and vigor to show their best at this event.”
