Darya Domracheva donates one of her Olympic medals to NOC museum

MINSK, 14 October (BelTA) – Darya Domracheva donated one of her first medals to the museum of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus, BelTA by the press service of the National Olympic Committee (NOC).

On the occasion of Mother’s Day, the famous Belarusian biathlete, four-time Olympic champion, Hero of Belarus Darya Domracheva, who became a mother for the second time this year, donated the gold medal of the 22nd Winter Olympic Games in Sochi to the museum. Darya Domracheva believes that many sports fans and schoolchildren will be excited to see her first Olympic gold medal which she won in Sochi. “This is not only my personal story. This is the history of the entire Belarusian sport, so I decided to share it with others. The school year has already begun, and the holidays are coming soon. Children from different schools will have an opportunity to visit the museum of the NOC of Belarus and see one of my awards,” the athlete said.

The museum regularly hosts organized groups of visitors. The press service noted that the museum also has many unique awards: the Pierre de Coubertin Medal, the IOC Silver Order, and the gold medals of famous Olympians from Belarus. The exposition of the museum is constantly expanding narrating the history of sport in Belarus, the NOC press service said.
