MINSK, 7 December (BelTA) – The issues of unification of the sports legislation of Belarus and Russia are reaching a higher level, Acting Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus Ksenia Sankovich said at the 74th session of the permanent seminar at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia dedicated to the convergence of the legislation of the two countries in physical culture and sports, BelTA has learned.

According to Ksenia Sankovich, the issues of convergence of sports legislation have recently become extremely relevant. “We have recently intensified cooperation with the Russian Federation in sports and physical education. I hope that this process will continue, and the adjustment of legislative acts will facilitate this work, make it easier, faster and, most importantly, more effective,” Ksenia Sankovich said.

High results in elite sports, development of mass sports, and promotion of a healthy lifestyle are unconditional and global goals.

“Today this is our common task. I am sure that this seminar, decisions and proposals to be voiced here will benefit the sports sector of both countries. There is still a lot of work to be done. However, with common efforts, we will be able to achieve serious results,” Ksenia Sankovich said.
