Kostomarov’s ice show routine prompted by personal life experience

MINSK, 22 March (BelTA) – Figure skater Roman Kostomarov spoke about the routine he will skate during the upcoming ice skating show in Minsk in a new episode of BelTA’s You-tube project V Teme [On Point].

“This performance is about the circumstances I found myself in. The second part of our show is called The Letters of Love where Oksana receives a letter from me from the hospital and my love and gratitude for being with me throughout this difficult time,” Roman Kostomarov said.

“When we first started working on this routine, I went out on the ice in sneakers in Sochi in August of last year. Then, I skated for the first time on the show celebrating the anniversary of Ilya Averbukh on 17 December. It was very exciting, it was incredibly responsible. The sensations that I am experiencing on the ice now are new and incomparable,” the figure skater shared his emotions.

Roman Kostomarov believes that the Belarusian audience should see this routine. “I can’t skate like I used to, and I never will. But at least I am gradually improving some things. I think that this routine touches the heart. It is moving probably, not only for Oksana and me but also for the audience who rooted for me, who were concerned about me and who supported me in every possible way. This routine is now the most important for me. You can watch it on TV, but still to see it live… I think the audience will like it very much,” he said.
