MINSK, 14 September (BelTA) – Belarus’ world number 102 Aliaksandra Sasnovich completed her San Diego Open run losing 5-7, 4-6 to world number 61 Emma Navarro of the United States in the second round, BelTA has learned.
Emma Navarro will face Greece’s world number 9 Maria Sakkari for a place in the semifinal. In the opener Aliaksandra Sasnovich beat Switzerland’s world number 15 Belinda Bencic, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2.
In the doubles quarterfinal Aliaksandra Sasnovich and Russia’s Ekaterina Alexandrova lost to Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova of the Czech Republic, 4-6, 1-6. In the opening round the Belarusian-Russian duo saw off Caroline Dolehide and Claire Liu of the United States, 7-6 (8-6), 6-4.
The tournament in San Diego will be over on 16 September.
