Silver for Belarus at IBA Junior World Boxing Championships

MINSK, 4 December (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes took part in the 2023 IBA Junior World Boxing Championships which completed in Yerevan, Armenia on 4 December, BelTA has learned.

The final day of the tournament featured 13 medal events. Belarus at the competitions was represented by 17 athletes, with Ivan Siniak making it to the gold-medal bout in the 66kg category.

The Belarusian defeated Seojin Hong of Korea, Abubakr Ghafurov of Tajikistan and David Torres of Mexico. Ivan Siniak faced Argishti Hakobyan of Armenia in the final to claim silver.

Earlier, bronze was collected by Andrei Rumiatsau in the 80kg event. Siarhei Zayats (46kg), Tsimur Siankevich (57kg), Uladzislau Kaurau (60kg), Anhelina Hizouskaya (46kg), Viktoryia Koval (57kg) and Maryia Blizniuk (60kg) finished fifth. The boxing event in Armenia featured 357 athletes from 51 countries.
