Violetta Skvortsova wins two gold medals at Belarus’ Open Athletics Cup

MINSK, 17 July (BelTA) – Violetta Skvortsova won two gold medals at Belarus’ Open Athletics Cup held in Brest, BelTA has learned.

In the long jump, she cleared 6m 75cm, 2cm ahead of Anastasia Mironchik-Ivanova. In the triple jump Violetta Skvortsova was victorious with 14m 40cm. Elvira Graborenko came in first in the 100m hurdles with the result of 13.11 seconds. Alena Dubitskaya won the shot put competition with 19m 22cm and Karina Demidik was the best in the high jump with 1m 93cm.

In the men’s high jump Dmitry Nabokov showed a result of 2m 2 cm. The bronze medalist of the Tokyo Olympics Maksim Nedasekau placed second with 2m 23cm. In the long jump the gold went to Vladislav Bulakhov who cleared 8m 03cm. Dmitry Karpuk won gold in the shot put (20m 66cm) and Aleksandr Shimanovich threw the hammer at the winning 78m 68cm.

On 28-30 July, the country’s best athletes will compete at Belarus’ championships at Minsk Dinamo Stadium that afterwards will host the 2nd CIS Games.
