MINSK, 19 May (BelTA) – The third season of the sports and cultural festival “Vytoki. A Step Towards Olympus” gets underway in Zhlobin, BelTA has learned.
According to the head of the Sport and Tourism Department of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee Pavel Starosvetsky, a press tour on the first day of the festival will highlight the historical and cultural heritage of Zhlobin District. The tour will follow from the local history museum in Zhlobin to the memorial to the children – victims of the Great Patriotic War in Krasny Bereg. The next point on the route will be the 19th century estate and park complex of the Koziell Poklewskis. Its interior features the elements of more than ten styles: Gothic and Romanesque, Rococo, Mannerism, Baroque, Classicism. This is the only Belarusian manor, the design of which features a rare Arabic style – the alhambra or Moorish.
The workshop on the same day will discuss the topical issues of training athletes and ways to solve them. “It will focus on the new regulatory legal acts and give answers to a variety of questions,” Pavel Starosvetsky said. The Belarusian Olympic Academy will also host a workshop for preschool and general secondary education institutions.
One of the main streets of the city will host an artistic drawing interactive organized by the ArtHaos gallery. The evening program of the festival will be opened by the musical “How the night has turned into a girl” by the Youth Variety Theater. The first day of the festival will end with the screening of the famous sports film in an open-air cinema.
The opening ceremony is scheduled for the second day. It will feature a 500m run for kids and the Olympic quest. Everyone under the age of 14 will have an opportunity to take part in sports competitions, test their capabilities in various sports, do tasks and receive valuable prizes. . “Upon completing every task, the competitor will receive a special mark in the card issued at the entrance. 15 collected marks will get a prize,” Pavel Starosvetsky said.
Zhlobin will also host the final of the regional leg of the new intellectual and educational project “Vytoki. Quiz” that will bring together teams from each district of Gomel Oblast. The project will continue in every city.
The entertainment program of the festival will open with a show of apparel collections by Belarusian manufacturers, designers and entrepreneurs. This year, the cultural program includes a new song lyrics contest “Poems about life important things”. The festival will also feature a vocal competition. Laureates will be awarded diplomas and prizes. “The highlight of the festival this year will be a youth disco, which will last until midnight,” the head of the department added.
The sports and cultural festival Vytoki. A step Towards Olympus” will travel to Baranovichi (2-3 June), Slonim (16-17 June), Glubokoye (23-24 June), Kostyukovichi (18-19 August) and Borisov (25-26 August). Among the organizers of the festival are the National Olympic Committee and the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus.
