Yaromko named head coach of Belarus’ U21 football team

MINSK, 26 February (BelTA) – Sergei Yaromko has been named head coach of the Belarusian national youth football team (U21), BelTA has learned.

Sergei Yaromko replaced Sergei Yasinsky, under whose tutelage the Belarusian team is unsuccessful in the 2025 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying. In qualifying group G Belarusians played eight matches (three draws and five defeats) scoring only five goals. Belarusians have two matches left to play: against Greece on 22 March and Faroe Islands on 15 October. 

The Group G standings are as follows: Portugal – 12 points (five matches), Greece – 11 (6), Croatia – 10 (4), Faroe Islands – 7 (5), Andorra – 3 (6), Belarus – 3 (8).
