2023 CIS Games: Belarus’ weightlifter Henadz Laptseu secures champion title

MINSK, 6 August (BelTA) – Henadz Laptseu of Belarus clinched gold in the weightlifting tournament of the 2nd CIS Games in Grodno, Belarus on 6 August, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian lifted a total of 286kh (133+153) to secure the champion title in the men’s 61kg event. Silver went to Vietnam’s Thanh Dong Nguyen (274kg), bronze to Russia’s Oleg Musokhranov (273kg).

Yesterday Belarusian weightlifters won silver (Yuliya Gulina) and two bronze medals (Polina Pichugina and Grigory Vertinsky).

Competing in the weightlifting event are athletes from Belarus, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Vietnam and Cuba.
