MINSK, 5 June (BelTA) – Young athletes from Belarus are set to take part in the Children of Primorye Games in Russia, BelTA learned from the press service of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus.

On 5 June President of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus Viktor Lukashenko and Governor of Russia’s Primorye Territory Oleg Kozhemyako discussed Belarus’ participation in these games at their meeting in Minsk. The First Summer International Sports Games Children of Primorye will be held in Vladivostok in early July this year.

The delegation of Primorye Territory arrived in Belarus to study in detail the operation of sports infrastructure and Belarus’ expertise in patriotic education of children by the example of the Stalin Line, Buinichi Field Memorial and other memorial complexes.

Viktor Lukashenko noted that Belarusian and Russian athletes have stepped up contacts lately. One of the examples is the recent Forum for Young Olympians in Moscow. “Such events are very important for young athletes of the two countries. This communication is now more vibrant, and we remain open for even closer cooperation in sports, physical culture and patriotic education,” said Viktor Lukashenko.
