Belarus 95th in FIFA rankings

MINSK, 30 November (BelTA) – Belarus’ national team went up to the 95th place in the FIFA World Rankings released recently, BelTA has learned.

Belarus was 100th in October rankings. Over the past months, the Belarusian team, under the tutelage of new coach Carlos Alos Ferrer of Spain, have played two European Qualifiers 2024 games. Belarus beat Andorra and Kosovo 1-0 each. Thanks to the recent successful performance Belarus climbed up five spots totaling 1232.8 points. In 2023 Belarus had ten matches in qualifying group I, posting three wins and three draws and also four defeats.

The FIFA’s November rankings are topped by Argentina. France is second, England – third and followed by Belgium and Brazil.

As for the former Soviet Union countries, Ukraine is 22nd, Russia – 38th, Uzbekistan – 68th, Georgia – 77th, Armenia – 93rd, Kyrgyzstan – 98th, Kazakhstan – 100th, Tajikistan – 106th, Azerbaijan – 114th, Estonia – 122nd, Latvia – 137th, Lithuania – 138th, Turkmenistan – 141st, and Moldova – 155th.

The next rankings of the world’s football teams will be released on 21 December.

Belarus ranks 57th in the women’s teams rankings. Belarus’ rivals in Group B4 in the UEFA Women’s Nations League hold the following rankings: the Czechia – 27th, Slovenia – 40th, Bosnia and Herzegovina – 68th. Yuri Maleyev’s team will play their next match against the Czechia on 1 December and will complete the event against Bosnia and Herzegovina on 5 December. The next rankings of the world’s women’s football teams will be published on 15 December.
