Belarusian NOC sums up 2023 year results

MINSK, 19 December (BelTA) – The NOC Executive Committee reviewed the organization’s activities in the outgoing year and approved a plan for 2024 at a meeting in the NOC headquarters, BelTA learned from by the NOC press service.

The Minsk Cycling Club and Chairman of the Belarusian Judo Federation Pavel Yasenovsky were honored with the certificates of merit for services to the Olympic movement, mass sport and elite sport. Director of the Minsk Cycling Club Aleksei Ivanov was awarded the letter of commendation from the NOC of Belarus.

The Executive Committee approved a report on the educational projects implemented by the Belarusian Olympic Academy in 2023, new members of the medical and anti-doping commission, and a list of support programs for national federations, unions and associations next year. In addition, the NOC Executive Committee gave a high approval of the performance of young Belarusian athletes at the 2nd Winter Children of Asia International Sports Games and the 1st Summer Children of Primorye International Sports Games. The Vytoki sports and cultural festival and the Olympic Day at the Minsk Palace of Sports were named the most ambitious projects of the NOC in 2023.

One of the priorities of the National Olympic Committee is international activities. In the outgoing year, Belarusian delegations took part in the International Forum of Young Olympians and an extended meeting of the ROC Athletes’ Commission in Moscow. In April, Minsk hosted the 3rd National Athletes’ Forum, a joint project of the Athletes’ Commission of the NOC of Belarus and the Russian International Olympic University. The event was attended by more than 250 athletes and specialists.

In October, the NOC hosted a large-scale marketing conference which brought together representatives of sports federations, managers and employees of clubs, leading Belarusian and Russian experts. The participants discussed the development and promotion of sports brands, shared their views on ways of working in the new conditions, exchanged experience in working with audiences, talked about marketing tools in organizing and holding sports events and interaction with athletes.
