Belarus’ Shkanova 2nd in Slalom at Russian Alpine Skiing Cup

MINSK, 20 December (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes took part in the third leg of the Russian Alpine Skiing Cup in Kusa, Chelyabinsk Oblast, Russia, BelTA has learned.

The men’s and women’s slalom events took place in Kusa on Wednesday. Belarus’ Mariya Shkanova graced the podium for the third time this season. The Belarusian clocked 55.81 seconds in her first attempt, finishing closely behind Anastasia Gornostaeva from Moscow. Mariya Shkanova clocked 52.59 seconds to claim silver in the final.

Earlier, Mariya Shkanova clinched gold in the Russian Cup first leg in Polyarnye Zori and collected silver in the second leg.
