MINSK, 4 August (BelTA) – The level of organization of the 2nd CIS Games, Yana Kudryavtseva, the silver medalist of the Olympics in Rio, thirteen-time world champion in rhythmic gymnastics, multiple European champion and four-time champion of the first European Games, said in a conversation with journalists, BelTA has learned.

“In view of all the restrictions that are in place now, any competition is very useful and is a forward momentum. I believe that it is necessary and important to hold tournaments of this level. Competition at the Games is top-quality,” Yana Kudryavtseva said.

When asked about how she sees the further development of rhythmic gymnastics in the face of sanctions, Yana Kudryavtseva found it difficult to answer. “We, like you, do not know what will happen next. We hope, of course, for the best, but we will accept reality with honor and dignity,” the Rio silver medalist said.

Yana Kudryavtseva added that at the Games in Minsk she likes everything: from the organization to the level of athletes. “It’s been a long time since I attended a competition. Here in Minsk, getting the feel of this atmosphere, I’ve got the desire to back on the mat again. I even envy the girls,” Yana Kudryavtseva said jokingly.
