Goodwill Cup in Moscow: Belarus clinch seven gold medals on day two

MINSK, 30 August (BelTA) – The international canoe sprint Goodwill Cup is underway at the rowing canal in Moscow, BelTA has learned.

The second competition day featured 20 final heats in which Belarusian teams won 16 medals, including seven gold medals. Ilya Tsymbaliuk and Emil Amalmasov won the junior C2 500m, Uladzislau Kravets and Dzmitry Natynchyk claimed gold in the men’s C2 500m. Mariya Misyuchenko won the junior C1 500m, Maryna Litvinchuk celebrated the victory in the women’s C1 500m.

Angelina Bardanovskaya won the junior C1 200m. Gleb Chebotarev and Ivan Kozlov were victorious in the junior C2 500m. Andrei Tkachuk won the VL-2 500m. The Belarusian athletes also collected five silver and four bronze medals on Wednesday.

Following two competition days the Belarusian team go with 34 (13-12-9) medals. Competing at the Goodwill Cup in Moscow are athletes from Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan.
