MINSK, 30 August (BelTA) – World No.2 Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus moved to the US Open second round, seeing off Belgium’s Maryna Zanevska, 6-3, 6-2, BelTA has learned.
Sabalenka struck five double faults in her first two service games, but Zanevska was unable to sustain pressure.
The Belarusian will next play Jodie Burrage of the UK, who ousted Russia’s Anna Blinkova in the opener.
