GRODNO, 8 August (BelTA) – 2023 CIS Games champion in weightlifting Petr Asayonak shared his emotions with the media following the weightlifting competitions, BelTA has learned.
“The atmosphere is great here! The stands are full! These are international competitions which have drawn crowds. It feels like Olympics!” Petr Asayonak said.
The weightlifter added: “The atmosphere here makes you feel really good. That is why I succeeded in lifting 197kg.”
The athlete added that his wife and his little son were watching him. “I was trying my best. I wanted to set a good example,” Petr Asayonak said.
