MOSCOW, 14 August (BelTA) – The 2nd CIS Games in Belarus became an embodiment of true Olympic values, has head of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) Stanislav Pozdnyakov, BelTA has learned.
“It was gratifying to see the persistent striving of athletes from all participating countries to win, mutual respect with rivals in the arenas and friendship and support outside the stadiums. It is for this atmosphere that fans all over the world are in love with sport! I am sure that the 2nd CIS Games became an embodiment of true Olympic values and set the bar high for other sporting events,” Stanislav Pozdnyakov wrote on social media.
“Belarus has once again shown its ability to host multisport international competitions at a high level! I congratulate my counterparts from the country’s government and the National Olympic Committee on this success, and thank them for the warm welcome of the Russian athletes and the delegation of the Russian Olympic Committee,” the ROC head said.
