Belarus’ Maksim Andraloits clinches silver at Russian Combined Events Cup

MINSK, 30 May (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes took part in the Russian Combined Events Cup which took place in Sochi, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Athletics Federation.

Maksim Andraloits claimed silver in the men’s decathlon. He topped the chart after nine disciplines, going one point ahead of Russia’s Aleksandr Komarov before the final 1,500m. In the final event Maksim Andraloits clocked 4:52.21, and the Russian athlete finished almost nine seconds ahead. The Belarusian secured silver with the total of 8,057 points, the result, which is in the top ten this season.

The U18 competitions in Sochi were won by Belarus’ Dmitry Mironchik with the total of 6,852 points. Silver went to Belarus’ Artsyom Travkin (6,607 points).
