KHL: Dinamo Minsk extend winning streak

MINSK, 7 October (BelTA) – HC Dinamo Minsk extended their winning streak to three games with a 3-2 victory against HC Lokomotiv Yaroslavl at Minsk Arena as part of the 2023-24 KHL regular season, BelTA has learned.

The Bisons improved to four wins out of five on the home ground, avenging their 1-4 loss to the Yaroslavl team earlier in the season.

Lokomotiv arrived in Minsk with their winning streak of five that lifted the team clear at the top of the West.

The Bisons opened the score 19 minutes into the game through a successful effort of Vitaly Pinchuk. The teams traded goals in the middle stanza: Vadim Moroz restored Dinamo’s lead after Lokomotiv managed to tie the game.

Yaroslav Likhachyov tied it up on a power play early in the final period and the game finished 2-2 in regulation. Overtime decided nothing. In the shoot-out Sam Anas secured victory for Dinamo.

With 16 points in total, Dmitry Kvartalnov’s team go 6th among 11 teams of the KHL’s Western Conference. The Bisons will be back in action on 11 October as they open their away series against Kunlun Red Star. The road trip will also feature games against SKA St. Petersburg on 13 October and Salavat Yulaev Ufa on 15 October.
